Six yards of cloth. That is all there is to the saree. Yet, this dress worn by millions of Indian women is, by far, the most elegant. Saree is the most popular women's wear in India since early days. Its a long fabric measuring 115 cm x 530 cm (breath x length). around 5 to 6 yards and some time 9 yard, that is used to cover the entire body of a woman It is not merely an outfit but an ornament, lending both grace and glamour to the wearer. Saree is for all purpose - party wear, daily wear, bridal wear and so on.

Chiffon is a light diaphanous fabric of silk, nylon, etc Lightweight, sheer, transparent. Made with very fine, tightly twisted yarns. The famous product of its fabric is chiffon sari. The tightly twisted yarns could be either in the filling or the warp or both. It is very strong, despite filmy look. Though Chiffon Saree gives look very well but very difficult to handle chiffon saris when sewing and it is best to baste the pieces over tissue to make it easier. It has slightly bumpy look. Chiffon sarees are best suited to shirring, draping, gathering,tucking, etc., because it is so limp. If made in a straight sheath style, it should be underlined with very firm fabric. e.g. faille taffeta.

Crepesarees are for any occasion but in summer wedding crepe saree gives a modern look, Crepe saris make a woman look and feel beguiling. Their crisped or wavy appearance results from the peculiar arrangement of the weft, which is formed of yarn from two different bobbins twisted together in opposite directions or uses alternately a right-twisted and a left-twisted thread. Crepe fabric is used in almost all garments like bridal lehengas, saris stylish sari and salwar kameez.

Georgette saree is a traditional wear with class. The graceful drape of georgette gets perfectly blended with traditional Indian designs and patterns. Georgette is a sheer lightweight fabric, often made of silk or polyester. It is slightly heavier and more opaque than chiffon. The twisted crepe fibers from which georgette is made gives it a springy quality that makes it seem to move on its own.
